One of Shakespeare’s classics comes alive in an exciting and educational presentation by Warehouse Theatre in The Tempest, Tuesday, October 23, 2018 at 9:30 a.m. and 12:00 p.m., as part of Diana Wortham Theatre’s Matinee Series for Students and Families. The Matinee Series performances are open to families, homeschoolers, school groups and community groups; The Tempest is recommended for Grades 6–12.

Though written between 1610 and 1611, this professional retelling will have modern students following along on the edges of their seats. This all-female version of The Tempest blends tragedy, comedy and romance in a tale full of magic and revenge. Opening with sinister sorcery and a seething storm at sea and ending with a reunion, one of Shakespeare’s most influential classics comes to vivid life as students witness fantastic spells, murderous plots, and a love story. The Warehouse Theatre Touring Company engages the imagination with creative play and ignites minds with their command of Shakespeare’s language. This production runs approximately 70 minutes with no intermission and is appropriate for middle and high school students.
