The Warehouse Theatre is excited to debut a statewide Virtual Shakespeare Festival May 2021.
Educational Program Intro
The week-long event will be coordinated with teaching artists and educators in the Upstate, Midlands, and Low-Country of SC. The Festival will feature text workshops, scene work with professional actors, and a competition for students, alongside professional development opportunities for educators.
With the option to attend “live” sessions virtually or view recordings for up to two weeks following the event, we hope to remove access barriers to any participant in South Carolina and provide educators with the opportunity to integrate material at a pace that suits them best.
For more information on sessions, please email Director of Education Mallory Pellegrino at [email protected].

Ask An Actor
Students and educators can submit a question and receive a response from a professional actor! Please make your question as specific as possible so we can ensure the best response.
Exploring Shakespearean Monologues with Professional Actors
Explore Shakespeare monologues with professional actors across the country! The Warehouse Theatre Digital Shakespeare Project has compiled eleven monologues from Shakespeare’s most studied plays: performed and discussed by professional actors.
Monologue Competition
SC students (grades 3-12) have been asked to submit Shakespearean monologues (or sonnets) for our monologue competition. Winners will be chosen in the following categories: Best Elementary, Best Middle School, Best High School, Best Sonnet, and Most Original. Monologues are judged by professional actors and directors, with each submission receiving personalized feedback.
We are still looking for a Middle School winner. If you’re an SC student in grades 6-8th, please send your entry to [email protected].
Competition Winners
- Best Elementary: Jude Ayers, Howe Hall Academy (Goose Creek, SC)
- Best Sonnet: Dawson DePratter, Dorman HS (Spartanburg, SC)
- Best High School: Bella Lawrence, Fine Arts Center (Greenville, SC)
- Honorable Mention: Abigail Best, Richard Winn Academy (Winnsboro, SC)
