A forum Wednesday night is starting the discussion about how Greenville can keep growing, while still including everyone.

Downtown Greenville is full of new businesses, stores and restaurants – but just a few miles away, others live much differently says Darian Blue, Pastor of Nicholtown Missionary Baptist Church and Executive Director of the Phillis Wheatley Association.

“I think all of us have a responsibility to extend our hands and extend our hearts to help lift everybody up,” Blue explained.

He recently wrote about the topic in a post on LinkedIn. It went viral with more than 30 thousand views.

“This is a conversation that has to be had,” said Blue. “It’s not a knock against Greenville, because Greenville is a great place, but I think it’s a conversation that we have to have as a community, as one community.”
