THE CAKE IS UPON US!
Rehearsals for this brand new play began on November 7th. Featuring local favorites Mimi Wyche (Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf?, Goblin Market, All My Sons) and Amanda Sox (Christmas on the Rocks, In the Next Room, Richard III) and a familiar face, Eliana Marianes (Spring Awakening)…the show will also debut Terry Wells to Warehouse audiences.
The Cake is written by playwright and screenwriter, Bekah Brunstetter, who is having a ton of success with the hit television show, This Is Us. A recent article from the New York Times gives you a glimpse into her inspiration for writing The Cake. You can read the NYT article HERE.
There was also a recent article about Bekah and The Cake in the LA Times where she maybe sums up the tenderness and humanity of The Cake in one sentence: ““On both sides,” Brunstetter says, “they’re forgetting the human being that’s at the center of this.” You can read this article (and see video) HERE.
