Shannon Robert, Scenic Designer-in-Residence at The Warehouse, delivers another extraordinary set design for A Streetcar Named Desire. Utilizing the flexibility of the black box theatre at The Warehouse, Shannon’s design invites a thrust seating arrangement with audiences getting a view of the hot and dangerous action in New Orleans from three-sides. With multiple playing spaces inside the Kowalski home and various levels within the scenic design, Warehouse’s audiences will get an up close and personal view of the turmoil brewing within this southern drama. Here we give you a sneak peek of Shannon’s early sketch for the set. A Streetcar Named Desire, written by Tennessee Williams and directed by Susan Fenichell, will open on December 19th.
