Morbid Fascination: Zombies, The Undead, and Popular Culture Our October forum was in relation to Evil Dead: The Musical (Book and Lyrics by George Reinblatt) Wednesday, October 8th, 6:00 pm When decaying “Walkers” invade social media every Sunday night, when shirtless werewolves and sparkly vampires become the subject of heated debate among millions of middle aged moms, and when the undead breathe new life into Jane Austen’s novels, something is up. A delightful discussion ensued around these topics as a collection of our favorite local horror writers, teachers and our ever-ready host Jonathan Parker shared stories and insight into what makes horror work in our culture.
